Both wires stripped, red has a terminal pushed on.
Wire terminal in crimper tool, about to be mashed.

Step 3:  Test fit the contact to the wire

Notice how nice 12 gauge fits the 30A contact!

IMPORTANT NOTE:  ALWAYS REMEMBER TTRR

Tongue Top / Red Right (more on this later)

Step 4:  Insert the contact with the wire in the middle

die.  The West Mountain Radio PWRCrimp has

3 dies (15A, 30A and 45A).

Push the contact with the wire all the way in and crimp tight.

This is a ratcheting crimper - so you can't crimp it too tight

Inspecting crimped terminal
Same criimping action using cheaper tool.

Step 5:  Observe!  Finished crimp

(Tongue Top / Red Right)

Step 6 (GB tool method):  Crimping being performed with the less expensive GB tool.  This tool can give satisfactory results - but I've damaged too many contacts, and I upgraded to the PWRCrimp.
