The TAPR convention is coming to Connecticut September 28, 29, and 30. You can sign up for as many, or as few, days as you like.

TAPR and ARRL did this once before, about four years ago (all their other meetings are out west).

This is a great meeting for those who are interested in what is going on in digital voice, data, APRS, and radios. It is also a chance to see what you may be seeing in a few years.

The last time they were here they were showing off Software Defined Radio, amongst other topics.

The sessions are interesting and informative. To sign up go to:

Wondering what software to use for Digital Communications?  What hardware most people in Connecticut use?

This information is posted by CLIDE (Connecticut Leaders in Digital Emcomm) on the www.ctares.org   web site.

You can get to it by selecting the Digital Communications tab on the left side of the screen. Then click on the "recommendations page"  link and you will see current recommendations.

Everyone is welcome to use whatever they prefer, but for EOCs and general working together,  we'd sure like to see people install the recommended software, even if
it is in addition to what you like.

These packages take very little disk space and will not interfere with anything else you are trying to do.

Chuck
