CT ARES has been working since mid-September, with the assistance and generosity of the Eastern Massachusetts (EMa) ARES group, to develop a user-accessed database in which members can enter and maintain their own membership information for CT ARES.

Each member will be responsible for his or her own records and will have a unique password to access this information. The application needs to be filled out as completely as possible to make the system work efficiently for CT ARES during any sort of drill or activation. It is important that contact telephone numbers, email addresses and mailing addresses are updated on the database when they change to keep the data as accurate as possible.

The database is far more complete than the one now in use. In addition to the usual access information, there are almost unlimited Training entries possible, areas for Band/Mode information, Emergency Power systems that you might have in use, and a wide variety of Special Equipment areas such as APRS, Packet and Digital, Weather Stations, Fax, as well as more exotic modes such as ATV or Satellite. It's an extremely versatile system that can be a great asset to CT ARES.

We are just a day or two away from turning it loose for general use. Prior to that you will be getting an email from me containing your personal access password as well as instructions on how to use the new system.

Watch your emails for a giant step forward for CT ARES.

FLASH! - FLASH! - FLASH! - FLASH! - FLASH! - FLASH! - FLASH! - FLASH! - FLASH! - FLASH! -

As of Saturday Morning, March 24th, 2007, it is now OPEN FOR BUSINESS AND ON-LINE!

I went there and updated my data, and uploaded a passport style photo.  The form is easy to

manage, and very complete.  This is a HUGE breakthrough for CT-ARES for everyone to be

able to quickly and conveniently manage their own data.  Now, here's the absolutely vital part:

You have to actually go and do it.  Please, do NOT put it off---because you'll forget.  You can

revisit anytime and add or change data.  This can be your update, as well as your initial sign-up

Just go to   http://www.CTARES.org   and go to "Membership" down the left side.  PLEASE do

it now, so you don't forget!   Your password protecting your account has been sent to you already.
